“Super Friends” writer writes letter to “Super Friends” comic

In 1980, Jeffrey Scott, who wrote most episodes of the Saturday morning cartoon Super Friends from 1977 to 1980, also wrote a clarifying letter to the comic book based on the show.

This is from Super Friends #33.

"I can think of a few things to criticize myself" made me laugh out loud.

(Taken wrongly it could sound awful, but coming from Nelson there wasn't any jealousy or sniping behind it -- just one professional writer offering another professional writer his objective assessment. Nelson may have been the most amiable comics pro ever; certainly the most comradely one I ever met.)

Nelson also was a technical advisor on the show, at least during the original incarnation 40 years ago, and he knew whereof he spoke or wrote.

I regret, Marc, that I never owned that particular issue, and these days, back issues are so much harder to come by in my neck of the woods.

Most times I want back issues, I order through mycomicshop.com. Great customer service.
